The resistance means you're close…

“The devil is always at the door of what matters most to us…”

Superstars,

I almost missed a very special bonding experience with my son last weekend... the resistance was strong.

Here's why that matters to your real estate business…

You know that feeling when your brain screams “NOPE” right before doing something that could change everything?

I had it on Sunday—one year after selling our surf boat.

The singular experience my son wanted this summer was a good day on the lake. But when we were literally loading the car in July… he had a major medical emergency.

Major as in days in the hospital. Scary as $#&!

Three months later, we were set for a morning together with my close friend, just the three of us. And I didn't want to go…

Too tired. Too busy. Too sore. Maybe the water would be too cold.

I'll spare the drama and jump to the punchline: we went. And it was epic—the best day on the lake of my life. Calm water, no one around, perfect. We even spent 20 minutes at midday sitting quietly, talking about life.

What if I had missed this?

Here's the pattern I've noticed: the most significant breakthroughs in business and life hide behind a massive wall of “I really don't want to do this right now.”

It's like the universe has this twisted sense of humor where the more you resist something, the more likely it is to be precisely what you need.

Your nervous system is trying to keep you safe from the unknown—even when that unknown could be your next level of success.

I call it the “Resistance Before Revelation” cycle.”

Think about it:

  • The gym membership you avoided for months, then finally used, leading to the best shape of your life.
  • The tough conversation with a key team member that you postponed ultimately transformed your business dynamic.
  • The bold marketing move that felt risky but brought in your biggest clients.
Here's the kicker: resistance isn't random. It's proportional.

The stronger the “absolutely not” feeling hits you, the bigger the breakthrough waiting on the other side. Your resistance is literally a GPS pointing to your next growth opportunity.

Right now, you might feel that familiar tug-of-war—“I don't have time,” “What if I fail?” or “Maybe next quarter.”

What if that resistance is actually your internal compass telling you: you're standing at the edge of something game-changing?

Sometimes the best business decisions happen right after we stop listening to our “but what if” voice.

What does the resistance you're facing right now look like?
