My favorite ornament…
Why is it that, as a Realtor, I find that the local market always comes up at Holiday parties?
I promise that I'm not the one bringing it up! Frankly, it's nice to take a break from the Real Estate talk.
I think it's because someone's gotta save these gatherings from imploding…
Uncle Jerry's already three eggnogs deep and starting sentences with “You know what's wrong with this country?”, and your cousin's scrolling through political memes like she's presenting evidence at trial.
Next, someone asks if anyone's been following the news about...actually, let's not even finish that sentence.
The questions always start the same way, too. Someone leans in close like they're about to share a secret and asks:
1. How's the market doing?
2. When will rates finally drop?
3. Is the market going to crash?
That last one's my personal favorite because apparently everyone's neighbor's cousin predicted the last three crashes that never happened.
Actually, a good number of Realtors predicted the same crash!
Here's the thing, though. Real estate talk beats arguing about politics or religion any day of the week. At least with houses, everyone stays friends afterward.
Realtors are known for providing answers that help them. I'm committed to providing answers that help the client.
So here's my challenge for you. Next time someone brings up real estate at a party, and you hear these questions floating around, say, “Hey, I know the best Realtor in Southern Utah. ” (Hopefully, this is me…)
Then shoot me a text with their info. I'll have an honest conversation with them instead of the usual "maybe we'll see" routine that benefits no one.
Now enjoy the eggnog and ugly sweaters!
