LPGA debut at Black Desert

I was at Black Desert Resort yesterday for the LPGA tourney and nearly drove off the road gawking at those majestic red rocks. 

You'd think I would be jaded after a lifetime here, but nope—still takes my breath away every single time.

The tournament, course setup, and overall organization were terrific, as they were at the PGA event last fall! I will definitely be returning for future events. 

And these ladies can play! Long drives, impeccable touch around the greens, and all operating with total class. 

But the golfers weren't the only ones swinging for big money out there

The whispers are getting louder: big cash is flowing into our little corner of paradise faster than I can lose a dozen balls in those jagged fields of lava.

Million-dollar condos. Magazine spreads. The secret's out, and there's no stuffing it back in the bottle. Do you remember when St. George was just a sleepy little town where people came to retire and escape winter? I sure do. 

Back when $5 in my tank got me through another few days, even a week, at Dixie High, and you could purchase a single-family home for well under $ 120K. 

Last week alone, we saw 106 homes change hands across our market. 

The range? Mind-boggling. From a modest $120K condo tucked away in Brian Head to an eye-watering $3,754,450 stunner in Sand Hollow Resort. 

That place went for $800 PER SQUARE FOOT, while our market average is $298. Someone's definitely not worried about their mortgage payment!

The invisible hands of supply and demand are hard at work, reshaping our community whether we toast or roast it. 

As the Greek philosopher Heraclitus stated, "there is nothing permanent except change."
