(Nearly) $8 energy drink…
It was only a 3.7 mile walk out of the casino…
You know that moment when your eyelids feel like they've got kettlebells attached to them?
That was me at the KW Realty international convention at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. I'd been listening to speakers talk about real estate markets for what felt like days.
My brain went into full rebellion. "Feed me caffeine or I'm shutting down," it screamed.
But here's the thing about casino resorts. They trap you like a roach motel. You check in, but your wallet doesn't check out.
I needed that sweet, tangy, carbonated energy boost. Water wasn't cutting it. My eyes were crossing like they were playing twister without me.
So I snuck out during some boring presentation about "leveraging influencer platforms" (whatever that means).
That's when I saw it: the convenience store, with its glowing fridge of liquid alertness—my salvation!
Then I saw the price tag.
$7.50. For ONE energy drink.
I nearly passed out right there, not from exhaustion but from sticker shock.
For that price, I could've bought a small car or at least two energy drinks across the street for $5 total.
The lesson? Planning ahead saves you money. And embarrassment. And the shame of overpaying.
Home Sellers can do this by beginning their home preparation and moving plans 6-12 months in advance when conditions permit. (Health crises and job transfers often dictate last-minute planning)
It takes deliberate planning to get the absolute highest price the market will support for your home.
Home Buyers can do this by contacting their Mortgage Lender, CPA, and other Financial representatives equally early to start assembling the domino chain.
We did an entire radio show/podcast episode on this topic last week; you can listen here.
In the meantime, learn from my example and don't be the person paying resort prices for life's necessities.

P.S. Wait until you hear about the $12 bottle of water I bought at a Vegas casino pizzeria. Talk about being held hostage! That story's coming next!
