Insult to Injury…
Epic photo taken 3 minutes before the mishap!
Lightning bolts aren't supposed to come attached to your hand, but there I was staring at my finger bent in ways that would make a pretzel jealous.
One minute I'm having the ride of my life on the “Wow” trail above Midway, Utah, the next I'm thinking “I know my pinky isn't supposed to look like that…"
I took a weird tumble 3 miles from the bottom of the canyon, and my finger got twisted into what looked like a zigzag lightning bolt when I held it up.
The emergency room doc was sure it was broken into pieces, but it turned out it was just a strange dislocation.
Still meant no bike rides for weeks since grabbing handlebars became impossible.
Over the next 7 days, I both thanked Heaven for my dominant right hand, while also being puzzled that a dislocated pinky could create “bring me to my knees” pain…
And typing? Stupidly difficult! I've gotten my money's worth from the myriad of voice-activated prompts on my phone.
But wait, it gets better!
A week later, I'm camping with family in Logan Canyon, finally getting some fresh air therapy.
I was feeling pretty good about things when I reached for a pot of boiling water.
My right hand was covered with a glove, but my left hand was bare due to the splint. Guess which hand grabbed the scalding hot metal handle?
Now I've got three fingers out of commission…insult to injury.
The funny thing about disasters is how they pile up just when you think you've got things under control. One setback leads to another, and suddenly you're wondering how everything went sideways so fast.
Buying or selling a home can feel just as overwhelming.
One inspection issue pops up, then financing gets complicated, then the appraisal comes in low. Before you know it, you're asking why you ever decided to move in the first place.
While we can't avert every transactional disaster for you, my team at I at The Larkin Group are well versed in being a trustworthy guide through the “real estate rapids” that are part and parcel of buying or selling a home.
I think we've ridden those rapids nearly 2100 times as of the moment in which I awkwardly type this.
If you're curious about the kinds of homes folks are buying and selling, here's a list of the last 200 that we've guided to the closing finish line: 200 Recent Sales
(Our MLS will only allow us to link 200 at a time!)
We'll be here for you when you're ready to put your lifejacket on and make that move.
Until then, I'm keeping my left hand in bubble wrap!
