How did I not think of this before?

Welp…

I had a brain-melting moment last month…

You know when something so obvious finally clicks? It wasn't quite like finding out that your Mom's “homemade” soup was really just Campbells, but close.

There I was at Brian Head Resort, wrestling with my ski boots. I was hopping on one foot in the snowy parking lot. Almost falling over. Cursing under my breath.

Then it hit me.

Why not put a blanket down on the snow? (Or a floor mat, or a piece of cardboard, anything!)

I could stand like a normal human. I could put my boots on without the circus act. No more risking a broken neck before hitting the slopes. 🎿⛷️

My brain nearly exploded. How had I never thought of this before?

For 35 ski seasons I've been doing the one-legged flamingo dance. The slip-and-almost-die routine. The "please don't let me fall in slush" prayer. 🙏

All because I never brought something to stand on.

This tiny fix completely changed my day. No more stress. No more balancing act. Just easy boot changing.

It made me think about all the simple solutions we miss. We keep doing things the hard way out of habit. We never question if there's a better way.

This happens in real estate all the time. People sell homes using outdated thinking - balancing on one foot, hoping it works out.

This includes, but is not limited to…

💸 Overpricing their home for fear of “leaving money on the table”

🔨 Ignoring basic touchup and small remodeling projects in an effort to save money…only to cost themselves thousands and spend unnecessary months on the market

🤦‍♂️ Getting emotionally stuck in negotiations over something like an 11-year old washer and dryer set…

I listed a home for Matt and Janessa (names changed to protect these lovely people) in Long Valley on Thursday April 3rd….

They went under contract with a FULL PRICE offer yesterday, April 8th.

These Sellers are the real heroes 🦸‍♂️ in their story because they were 100% clear on why they are moving to Idaho, and committed fully to the steps that brought them that kind of Buyer in such a short time frame.

What simple change could make your home selling experience less stressful and more profitable?

What's your biggest worry about selling your home right now?

PS - We're still skiing at Brian Head through their projected closing date of 5/7! Let me know if you'll be up there, I'd love to make some turns and enjoy a chairlift convo!

PPS - I'm a few weeks from releasing the most comprehensive home-selling guide I've ever produced. A 30-page book packed with every thing I've learned in 20 years…stay tuned as I will be sharing it here.
