Friends -
My brain felt like a bowl of cold oatmeal tonight. (Best I could come up with!)
I sat down to write this email with absolutely nothing in the tank. Zero. Nada. The creative well was bone dry, and I was staring at my screen like it might magically start typing for me.
That's when Theo, Jen's dog (my "Stepdog"?), jumped up and pressed his face into my arm…I snapped a photo because, honestly, what else was I going to do?
The photo has ZERO relevance, but it was a nice moment…
She walked in and found me half-dozing with the furry heater nearby, "Are you awake?"
"Barely. I'm feeling completely uninspired."
"Why don't you write about feeling uninspired?"
Brilliant woman, that one.
Here's the thing about life that nobody really talks about: we all want to do great things.
We want to be great! But some days? Some days we just don't have it. That's not failure. That's just being human.
People imagine Realtors are always out there showing fancy homes or depositing big checks. But here's a fun fact: 74% of Realtors in North America sold ZERO homes in 2024. Zero!
We stay pretty busy at The Larkin Group, thanks to folks like you. We just helped our 140th client of 2025 cross the closing finish line this week.
But I promise you there were plenty of uninspired, "just keep your head down and push through" moments in those 140 transactions…hundreds, if not thousands.
What were we supposed to do? “Hey, Mrs. Homeseller, I'm feeling unmotivated and uninspired. I guess I won't be able to get your deal to closing…”
No way. Things have to get done, period.
So what about you? How do you navigate that lack of inspiration when life is calling you to step up and push through?
I'd love to hear your thoughts.
