1. Things you love about your town:

 

The things I love about my town are many. When we moved here 30 years ago it was a small town of 35,000+ people, 2 stoplights, and friendly people. A safe and wonderful area to raise a family or retire to and live out the rest of your life in the heart of national and state parks. 30 years later, even though th town isn't as small as it was, it still has all the attributes of that small town that I moved to 30 years ago, but with more opportunities to grow (work), events to be involved with (Tuacahn, Street Art Fairs, Dickens Festival, Huntsman Sr. Games the St. George Marathon, Iron Man, Film Festivals, the list goes on), and so many choices of places to eat and parks to visit. This area is also fantastic for hunting and fishing, boating, swimming, skiing etc. The weather is what makes it all possible and the warm friendly neighbors make it worth staying.

2. Tell us something about your neighborhood:

 

Our neighborhod is full of great people who watch after each other, we talk to each other and help each other out when needed. The Bloomington area in general has the mature large trees, the loop for walking and riding bikes, the golf course and club house, the parks and great schools for the kids. It's a great mix of older loved homes and newer homes being added.

3. Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, hospitals or any other "conveniences":

 

St. George still has that small town feeling, but with all the luxuries of the bigger cities added to it. The shopping is close by and convenient and with the freeway running through the middle of town its fast to get to anywhere you want to go. Emergency services and medical facilities are top rate with a fire station only a few blocks away and a fire hydrant on the properties corner.

4. What specifically drew you to the property?

 

There were so many places to chose a building lot from in St. George and the surrounding areas and we looked everywhere from Dammeron Valley area to Santa Clara, Washington to Leeds, but we were renting a house in Bloomington during our search, and this neighborhood and people were so warm and friendly that we decided to stay here and found a great lot to build on, and built this great family home with large bedrooms and family spaces. It was 1/3 of an acre on a corner to boot. (a large lot for this road.)

5. Hobbies in the area?

 

With fishing and hunting and camping areas so close, this is the perfect area to live. So as part of our home, we added a place to park the motor home that included water power and sewer hook ups. (added another bedroom for when lots of company comes to visit.) Also with so many clubs to join, like the Lions club and the remote controlled airplane club and more, there are endless activities to be involved with.

6. Anything else?

 

Our home is also located within the Dixie Power grid and runs on 2 separate heat pumps, one for the main floor and one for the basement. The home is all electric and even with a wood shop using 220 power and hot summers our electric bill hasn't gone above $150.00 very often. Also with the artificial turf and putting green in the back yard along with a drip irrigation system, the other utilities are also quite low. I would not be moving out of this house ever, except that age has a way of convincing you to make changes that need to be made.
