1. Things you love about your town:


We enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that St George has to offer after the hustle and bustle of living in a larger city. We are especially grateful for the kindness of the people of St George including the politeness of the young people in the area. We often say that living here is like going back to what life used to be like in the 1950’s. St George has every amenity that a bigger city has to offer with a small town atmosphere.

2. Tell us something about your neighborhood:


Our neighborhood is filled with amenities. We live on a small cul-de-sac where everyone is neighborly. Since we are snow birds, we leave St George for 6 months out of the year, and our neighbors watch our home inside and out while we are away. We feel safe on Arnica Circle. We live within walking distance of the bike trails which run all round St George. We are within walking distance of a park with a children’s playground, a lighted tennis/pickleball court, and a walking path. We have easy walking access to Webb Hill with the petroglyphs that date back to prehistoric times. We don’t have to drive out of our driveway to enjoy all this.

3. Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, hospitals or any other "conveniences":


We live close to Harmon’s Grocery, the best grocery store in St George. It is very European and you can find items that are hard to find elsewhere. We also live close to the Dixie Regional Medical Center, an excellent hospital if an emergency occurs. Dixie State University is located near us. We have taken Continuing Education courses and joined their ICL program, a program run by senior citizens for senior citizens. The nominal cost makes the courses accessible to all. We go to Gold’s Gym which has the Silver and Fit and the Silver Sneakers programs. Little Valley Pickleball and softball complexes are located in close proximity to us as well as Canyons and Bloomington softball complexes. There are a number of Churches nearby including St George Catholic Church. Everything is convenient in St George.

4. What specifically drew you to the property?


We purchased the property in 1990 because of its beautiful view. We would drive down from Las Vegas and dream about the home we would someday build. We hired SunWest Development, found the plans for our perfect home and began the building process. After excavation was complete, we were left with our home surrounded by a natural stone wall that was not only beautiful, but afforded us much privacy. When you purchase our home, you are not just buying a house; you are buying inspiring views and opportunities to enjoy the best of what St George has to offer.

5. Hobbies in the area?


We enjoy playing softball and pickleball and there are plenty of opportunities to do both in St George. The Huntsman Senior Games are held in St George in October. These Senior Games allow us the opportunity to hone our athletic skills and to meet people from all over the world during the two weeks the games are held. Tuacahn Theatre, an outside amphitheater in nearby Ivins brings many Vegas attractions at an affordable price.

6. Anything else?


There are so many things we love about this house. We enjoy the view of the city of St George on beautiful evenings at twilight on our covered swing from our “overlook” patio with our fire pit blazing. In the early evening, we sit in our back patio with friends where we barbecue and enjoy our Greek-themed water feature. During the day, we enjoy our covered gazebo from our backyard patio near another fire pit. In the early morning, we sit on our side patio where we sip coffee and watch the sun rise. To make it more complete, the walled privacy we have in the back of our home also serves as a wind break.
Inside the home, we love the cathedral ceilings and the beautiful view of Snow Canyon State Park from our front window. During the short winter, it is very pleasant to light the fireplace and enjoy the chilly mornings from inside the house. We also enjoy a good soak in our master bath with the jacuzzi after a hike in Zion National Park.
