1. Things you love about your town:

 

The thing we probably love most about St. George is the amazing outdoor recreation. Whether it's a full day of trail running in Zion National Park or a mountain bike ride on the amazing trails available right from the front door, it is difficult-to-impossible to beat southwestern Utah if you love being outside.

2. Tell us something about your neighborhood:

 

Our neighborhood has a great mix of people, from young families to empty nesters, so it has a nice balance of being quiet but not dead. It's also in a great location for golfers or for accessing the endless open space to the west.

3. Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, hospitals or any other "conveniences":

 

Nearly every service you would want or need is handy. The Green Valley Market, at the bottom of the hill from The Highlands, has a few popular restaurants, as well as a convenience store/gas station. All the services on Sunset Drive -- grocery stores, restaurants, gyms, Home Depot, Sunset Corner (movie multiplex, restaurants, Starbucks, etc.) -- is just 5 minutes away.

4. What specifically drew you to the property?

 

What really made us want to live here was a combination of the neighborhood and the lot. The Highlands just a nice a feel up on top of the hill. The homes in the neighborhood are nice and it is convenient to both urban amenities and miles of natural recreation. Once we settled on The Highlands, we especially liked the feel of the lots on Pikes Circle. Being on a cul de sac and having a large native wash as our backyard has been as great as we hoped. It is just a really pleasant setting.

5. Hobbies in the area?

 

Our enjoyment of the trails and open space immediately to the west of the neighborhood has exceeded even the high expectations we had when we decided to build our home. The pavement ends less than 1/2 mile from the front door and the amount of exploration possible from there is endless. The recreation opportunities are some of the most popular in the area: The Zen, Bear Claw Poppy, Stucki Springs, and Santa Clara River Reserve trails are all accessible right from home. Rock climbers flock to the Green Valley Gap, Moe's Valley and the Zen Wall, all of which are nearby. Golfers have easy access to Sunbrook GC; the clubhouse is less than a 5-minute drive and several of its fairways brush up to the edge of the neighborhood.

6. Anything else?

 

Within our home, we really like all the natural light we get from extra-tall windows that open to the large natural wash behind the home (part of the lot). The extra privacy of the lot is just so nice. We also really put a lot of effort in finishing the home and we're glad we did. The floors, cabinets, counters, appliances, and window treatments are all premium elements that create a clean, light, contemporary feel.
