1. Things you love about your town:

 

The climate is mild, especially in the winter, so that we can spend time outside doing various activities that keep us active. St. George has a small town feel with many of the amenities one would only find in a much larger city. Almost everything we need is located right here! We love attending the musicals and concerts at the beautiful Tuacahn Ampitheater in Ivins.

2. Tell us something about your neighborhood:

 

We especially love the quiet neighborhood, our private backyard and our wonderful neighbors. We are able to walk almost every day of the year and encounter very little traffic. The SunRiver fitness center rivals many pricey gyms, and we have good instructors. We can participate in almost any activity we can think of. The SunRiver ballroom is famous all over town and has been used for many cultural events. Hank's Grill is located right here, so we can even walk over to have a late breakfast or yummy lunch/dinner.

3. Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, hospitals or any other "conveniences":

 

We have appreciated having the hospital within ten minutes of our home due to the many health issues of being over 55. The doctors are very skilled and professional. Harmons Grocery Store is a few minutes from our home and carries a great selection. Costco is one of our favorite stores because of the variety and low prices. We love the wide selection of restaurants in town and love meeting our friends for meals and conversation. I especially love the Washington County Library system here and use their services on a regular basis.

4. What specifically drew you to the property?

 

We were searching for a mild winter climate and first looked in Nevada, but couldn't find anything we liked. Our agent brought us to St. George and showed us around. The only place where we got out to look was SunRiver, and we immediately fell in love with the place. We were struck by the wide variety of amenities right here in our backyard.

5. Hobbies in the area?

 

We can't even list all the hobbies we are able to pursue here! We learned to play pickle ball and golf. My husband spends too much time in the wood shop here (but he is usually building something I will enjoy) while I'm reading the next book for my Book Club. We both volunteer at the computer club, monitoring the open hours and helping others to learn. There are ample opportunities to volunteer in the local community, such as SCORE, DAR, Veteran's groups, animal rights groups, and genealogy. We love that Zion National Park is so close that we can drive over for a hike and lunch at the Lodge during the winter when there are few tourists.

6. Anything else?

 

We love the time when the Huntsman Senior Games are being held. We have participated and volunteered as well as seeing the sports we love and some new ones we hadn't ever watched. The area around St. George is perfect for four-wheel activities in our Jeep or on the ATVs.
