1. Things you love about your town / neighborhood:

 

The things I love about my town are that it is quiet and peaceful, yet full of friendly families and fun activities. The scenic views are beautiful including Red Mountain Resort, Snow Canyon Sate Park's red and white walls, and the blue Utah hills. Ivin's Tuacahn Amphitheater is renowned for its impressive theater productions and concerts. I have been impressed with its schools, recreation areas, and city festivities. The town is within a close drive to any needed shopping or entertainment, yet is secluded enough to enjoy a brilliant view of the stars, and breathtaking sunsets.

2. Tell us something about your neighborhood:

 

Our neighborhood is quiet, peaceful and full of friendly families. It is great for enjoying the scenic views of Southern Utah, including spectacular views of the stars, colorful sunsets, Snow Canyon State Park, and the Red Mountain. It is a brief walk away from Ivins City Park which hosts yearly festivals, events, and parades. It's great for running, hiking, bicycling, and golf. I love that it is so close to the Tuacahn Amphitheater with its amazing productions.

3. Grocery Stores, Gas Stations, hospitals or any other "conveniences":

 

It is a quick drive to Lin's Fresh Market and Albertsons for groceries. I enjoy taking the Snow Canyon State Park, which is a scenic and quick route to Walmart, Costco and Home Depot. My family loves going to the Tuacahn Amphitheater, Cinema 8 movie theater, and hiking Snow Canyon. It is close to greats schools: Red Mountain Elementary School, Vista Charter School, Lava Ridge Intermediate School, Snow Canyon's Middle and High schools. It is within a 15 minute drive to St. George, for other shopping, activities, and entertainment.

4. What specifically drew you to the property?

 

We were drawn to this property because of its beautiful views of the Red Mountain and surrounding hills. It is also situated in a very friendly family neighborhood. We loved that the property is so large and full of shady tall trees. We were also drawn to it because it is a close proximity to St.George, yet distant enough to be quiet and secluded.

5. Hobbies in the area?

 

We love to bicycle, hike, and run in Snow Canyon State Park which is located just a few miles away. We enjoy the art festivals of neighboring Kayenta, and the theater productions and concert at Tuachan Amphitheater. The walk to the nearby Ivins City Park for city activities, parades, and car shows. We enjoy the many local sports for children, golf courses, and hiking trails.

6. Anything else?

 

Our water bills are very low in the summer because of our irrigation share that provides water to all the sprinklers and drip lines. We also have large animal rights. The house was built next to the existing large mulberry tree to provide shade in the summer, and sunshine in the winter. This works great with the large windows and deck. The pizza brick oven on the patio was custom made and has been great for parties. It will cook a pizza in 3 minutes! Because of its concrete walls, our large basement storage room keeps a steady cool temperature when kept closed, and has been great to store food storage and holiday decor. The basement is also a complete apartment which has been nice for our parents that needed to live there temporarily. The front boulders were brought in to match the scenic hills of the area. The larger 'shed' was being constructed as a European sauna and has the plumbing for that, but works great for storage or a garden shed. The nearby cottage was remodeled in 2000.
