by Jeremy Larkin

It's fall in Dixie!! That means 2 things: 1. Lots of football, and 2. Tons of Southern Utah residents overwatering their lawns. Zion National Park: Angels Landing

by Kendall Clements, Escape Properties

Looking for a hike that's TOUGH, FUN, and amazingly beautiful? Then the Angels Landing hike is the hike for you!

Let me explain a little bit about this hike in Zion National Park: it is about 5 miles to reach the pinnacle of this hike, the first two miles are paved trails to make it easy, but then the last half mile is hiking up a rock with support chains until you reach the top! Most of the trail is always sunny, so make sure you bring your sun screen! Also, this hike takes about 4-5 hours for the average person to complete, so it is suggested that you do not start this hike later in the evening. This hike is a great early morning hike! Permits are not required to hike this!

In Zion National Park, there are so many unique wildlife that you will see if you go there and hike the hikes. The sights are a natural wonder as well! With the unique weather here in Southern Utah, the nature in the area is so unique and beautiful! So if you enjoy the idea of a really strenuous hike that will leave you tired after, this is the hike for you!

Best St. George, Utah Pizza Joints

by Jeremy Larkin

When going on vacation to an unfamiliar town, It’s always easy to call Domino's or Pizza Hut and just get pizza that you always have delivered to where you are staying. But then one wonders, where is a good pizza place in St.George?

Not saying that Domino's or Pizza Hut isn't good pizza, but there are so many unique pizza places in St.George that if you were deciding on pizza, you might want to try these places to try something different!

The Pizza Factory: One of the oldest pizza places in St.George. There are two locations of Pizza Factory: one on Red Cliffs Drive and one on the Boulevard. The one on the Boulevard is the oldest Pizza Factory ever! There is also a Pizza Factory Express on Sunset in St.George for a quick order of their delicious food! They are known for their homemade pizzas and their delicious bread twists! Order one huge pizza for the family to share, or individual pizzas for each person to have their own!

Peir 49 Pizza: Known for their San Francisco style pizzas! Certain pizzas have a sourdough crust that is so delicious! Their different gourmet pizzas will make you dying to try every single one of their pizzas!

The Brick Oven: Has a very authentic taste to their pizzas due to the fact that the oven is an old fashioned brick oven. All of their pizzas are cooked to perfection, and will taste like your eating pizza from an old town Italian restaurant!

Roys: An Italian restaurant that uses only locally grown produce to make the more quality food. They have been in business for 25+ years, and they have always been known for excellent food, service, and atmosphere!

Riggatti's:  These guys are the "newest" comers to the St. George pizza market, and they ARE SO GOOD! Honestly, it's my favorite pizza joint any more - really. They wood-fire their product and cook it thin. It just kind of melts in your mouth. Check them out here:

No matter how you slice it - yes, pun intended, pizza is just plain good stuff, and St. George has some pretty darn good offerings. Still not sure? Shoot Jeremy an email directly and he'll be glad to chat:  Enjoy!

Brigham Young Winter Home

by Kendall Clements, Escape Properties

The Brigham Young Home in St. George is trully a great local piece of history! Much of St. George's Euro-American roots come from the LDS Mormons that traveled across the country to settle in Utah. With them settling here, they are a lot of our culture and we have a lot of historic landmarks from them, and they left some pretty awesome old houses for us modern folks!

One of these homes was the Brigham Young Home. This home was where the 2nd Modern Day Prophet of the LDS church stayed over the winter the last few years of his life to enjoy the warmer weather (than the cold weather in the Salt Lake area) and to help with the construction of the Temple and Tabernacle. This home is still intact and is very pretty to see! Don't just take my word for it; come to St. George and see it for yourself!!

Ironnman St. George Traffic Guide

by Jeremy Larkin

St. George, Utah in May. That means it’s once again IRONMAN ST. GEORGE time! Depending on where you LIVE on the Ironman St. George route, you may not be as enthusiastic as some folk will be due to challenges with getting around.

So here it is, the official Ironman St. George “Traffic Impact” guide with all of the information you and yours will need to navigate the area on race day, Saturday May 4, 2013. Just click here: Ironman St. George Traffic Guide

Ironman St. George race day truly is “electric” however, and if you haven’t had the opportunity to spectate, volunteer, or RACE the event, you’re missing out. While I wouldn’t recommend RACING at this point (you couldn’t get into the sold-out event anyway), you can certainly volunteer. Here’s a link to do that! Ironman St. George Volunteer Opportunity

Until then, enjoy some fantastic video we took during the inaugural Ironman St. George and get ready for the Ironmen! (and women…).

Do More Homes Sell During the St. George Parade of Homes?

by Jeremy Larkin

Ahh yes, the St. George Parade of Homes. That time when the Northern folks flee the cold and smog of Wasatch Front inversions, local folks view their dream homes, and about 200 million FSBO's (For Sale by Owners) throw a sign in their yard with dreams of selling their home for more than it's worth!

St. George Parade Home

Not only that, I've always said that if you don't hate your own home now, you will after the parade! At least my wife feels that way after she leaves these beauties and lands back at the "dreary" Larkin Residence.

Which begs the question: Do more homes sell during the Parade of Homes, or NOT? Are people really here to BUY St. George Real Estate, or just spectate? We've been asked this about 5x in the past few weeks, so we did the research for you. Here's what we found (video).

Are you going?
